The US Department of Education requires colleges and universities to disclose certain information for any financial aid eligible program that, “prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation”. This information includes program costs; occupations that the program prepares students to enter; occupational profiles; on time completion rate; and for the most recent award year: the number of students who have completed the program, the number of students who complete the program within the estimated duration, the job placement rate, and the median Title IV and private loan debt incurred by those who complete the program. This, as well as other information, is listed below.
The Pre-Medical and General Science Studies Certificate program provides a structured academic background in basic science preparation for students interested in pre-medical studies or other health-related disciplines. The program is designed for individuals returning to school on a part-time or full-time basis. For complete certificate information, please click here.
The program requires completion of twelve degree credit (XL) courses, totaling at least 48 units. Nine courses must be chosen from the four core disciplines of:
- Chemistry
- Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular, Cell, Developmental Biology, Physiological Sciences
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Physics
with at least one course in each of the four discipline areas. The remaining three electives may be degree credit (XL) course in other science disciplines, humanities or social sciences.
