4 Courses Required

The Environmental Studies Certificate is designed for those who want to make a real difference in the world. It is an interdisciplinary program comprised of four required courses that together provide a strong foundation for understanding the complex relationship between humans and the environment. Students gain a multidisciplinary perspective on a variety of environmental issues including air and water pollution, population growth and distribution, global climate changes, ecosystems and evolution, water and food resources, and renewable and nonrenewable energy sources. Issues are addressed from a local, national, and international perspective as well as from a human and physical perspective, giving students the comprehensive knowledge base necessary for career enhancement and/or graduate school. This program can be completed in two quarters, ideal for students and professionals alike. Two of the four courses are transferable to the UC system.
