Taught by Hollywood professionals, the Producing Certificate gives participants an insider view of the "real world" aspects of producing, providing the essential skills and knowledge needed for both creative and physical producing. The curriculum emphasizes the role of story as well as principles of financing, marketing, and distribution.
Requirements
Students must complete a total of 12 courses (48 units) for the award. 8 courses (32 units) are required and the remaining 4 electives (16 units) are comprised of other courses numbered X 400-499 in Producing, Entertainment Development, or Business and Management of Entertainment. New electives are added regularly.
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 must be achieved for successful completion of the certificate program.
The following courses should be completed within the first 2 quarters of study:
- FILM TV X 404 Pre-Production and Production for Film and Television
- MGMT X 403.31 The Business of Entertainment
