3 Courses Required

The Sustainable Business and Management (SB&M) Specialization is designed for those who want to dive deeper into the business and management subfield of sustainability by integrating sustainable growth with business management strategies. While the Sustainability Certificate provides a comprehensive foundation in sustainability, this specialization focuses on how you can incorporate sustainability into business strategy, management, and operations, in order to overcome the three megatrends in corporate sustainability: “resource constraints and rising commodity prices; climate change and extreme weather; and radical, technology-driven transparency”[1] to achieve corporate social responsibility. This specialization provides a holistic and condensed overview of sustainable business and management, all while allowing the student to work alongside established instructors to focus on particular topics of interest via class projects and discussions. Sooner rather than later, doing business sustainably will be the only way to do business. This specialization allows the student to become a leader in this ever growing field.

This specialization requires the completion of three, 400-level courses from a selection of five courses. All five courses are electives in the Sustainability Certificate. It can be completed alongside or independently of the Sustainability Certificate.

No prerequisites. No order in which to complete the courses.

Estimated duration: 3 quarters (or nine months)
