Course Description
This course offers a practical introduction to the basics of maintaining a home garden. Students gain knowledge in tool selection and care, soil preparation, planting, plant nutrition and water requirements. Topics include common landscape problems with organic and holistic solutions; our special climate and micro-climates, including sun and shade exposures; various pruning techniques; types of irrigation systems; gardening in containers; and gardening with color including perennials, annuals and bulbs.Course Outline
