Course Description

Explore the stylistic and expressive potential of typography as a critical element of graphic design solutions in this hands-on course. Students learn about word/image juxtaposition, eclectic stylization, and contemporary design trends. Substantive projects explore the compositional and semantic aspects of typography for portfolio application.

Course Outline

Expand your typographic skills by exploring increasingly complex typographic systems, and solving design problems that demand conceptual and experimental approaches to accommodate multiple layers of information.

DESMA X 479.4A Typography or consent of instructor. Knowledge of both Illustrator and InDesign is required.
