Course Description

This course covers and introduces students to the concepts and methods necessary for successful execution of manufacturing engineering projects on aircraft assembly. Project management systems such as Agile and Waterfall are discussed, along with the strengths and weaknesses of each. Students will take their projects from the previous classes and integrate them with their chosen management method, and also learn to use analytics to monitor the performance of the project after execution. Statistical methods for proving manufacturing success will be discussed, such as Six Sigma and other typical tools used in industry. Students will also present their projects in a number of different ways for different stakeholders in order to understand how to effectively communicate project status to people with different goals and measures of success.
