Course Description
This course will introduce the knowledge and skill set needed for educators to teach students with special needs and English Learners (EL). Topics include cognitive, linguistic, socio-cultural, and affective development of children from diverse linguistic backgrounds and students with diverse learning needs. Previous courses introduced fundamental instructional strategies and assessments concepts. This course focuses on the fundamental concepts and skills needed for educators of English learners and students with special needs to address equity, inclusion, diversity and access, as well as differentiate instruction, write instructional plans, and provide positive classroom and school-wide intervention programs.
