Whether you want to design a national park, or a modest water efficient backyard, landscape architecture can give you the skills and abilities to change the places you live, work and play, for the better. The field of landscape architecture is a multidisciplinary profession that weaves design, environmental systems and sustainability, construction knowledge as well as land and water conservation together to influence place making and create designed outdoor living spaces. The Landscape Architecture Certificate is a rigorous 3 year evening and weekend program sequence tailored for the working person. The curriculum provides design methodology, technical knowledge and land stewardship which is applied to actual sites within the Los Angeles area. UCLA Extension's Landscape Architecture program curriculum is approved by the California Architects Board Landscape Architects Technical Committee to meet the education requirements for licensure in California. Landscape architects practice in private firms, multidisciplinary firms, park agencies, city and urban planning offices, natural resource planning agencies and offices, as well as many other fields. Our classes are taught by practicing landscape architects as well as industry professionals providing a unique educational experience and perspective from those who not only 'talk the talk, but also walk the walk.'

The Landscape Architecture Certificate is a graduate level program, therefore students must earn a "c+" or better in each course and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater to successfully complete the program.
