The Teacher Induction - California Clear Credential Program (University Mentor Track) for Multiple Subject, Single Subject, and Education Specialist teachers is designed to support the induction and ultimate retention of participating teachers as responsible members of the teaching profession. Successful completion of the program leads to a recommendation for a California Clear Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Over two academic years, participating teachers engage in an individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring, support, and professional learning, which becomes a vehicle for the growth and self-reflection required of successful teachers in our state’s increasingly diverse classrooms.

Participating teachers receive weekly guidance and support from a highly qualified university mentor teacher who provides just-in-time help for teaching challenges and ongoing coaching and resources to help the new teacher meet their individual learning and growth plan goals. UCLA Extension’s program is fully aligned with the CTC’s revised teacher induction program standards (2016). A fully online format provides a flexible and convenient route for completing program coursework.
